Finished basements are the Chesterfield pattern

Most Chesterfield homes were built from the 1970s onward in large subdivisions on the bluffs and hills south of the Missouri River, and a large share of them have finished lower levels: drywall, carpet and pad over the slab, and living space that gets used every day. Remediation planning starts with finding and correcting that source, then removing affected material under containment rather than treating the visible surface.
